If you want to have some nice Mediterranean Bread as a side or starter, then try out this recipe. It’s super easy and you got yourself some nice looking bread in no time! And I bet that you’ve got all ingredients needed in your kitchen all the time. You can always try out new variations and more ingredients, but the base recipe is super simple.

What you need:

Base ingredients:
❧ 300g Flour
❧ 8g Salt
❧ 8g Dry Yeast
❧ 175ml Lukewarm Water
❧ Mini Tomatoes
❧ Olive Oil
❧ a pinch of sugar/honey

(Optional)
❧ Olives
❧ Dry Tomatoes
❧ Onions
❧ whatever else you like

What to do:

Mix the lukewarm water with the sugar and the dry yeast and let it stay for about 5 mins.

While waiting mix the salt and flour together.

Now mix the yeast water with the salted flour and knead the mixture for about 5-8 mins until you have a nice soft dough.

Now Oil a bowl well with Olive Oil.

Oil your dough ball a bit and place it in the bowl. Let it sit at a warm place for about 1h45min. In that time the dough should rise and almost double in its size.

When the time is over, if you got additional ingredients besides the tomatoes, chop them a bit and mix them now in your dough.

Oil your baking form with oil and put some coarse salt at the bottom if you have some.

Put in your dough and use your fingertips to move and stretch the dough, so it covers the whole baking form.

Let it sit like this for additional 30 mins at a warm place so it can rise a bit more.

Preheat your oven to 230°C

Now put in your mini tomatoes. Drizzle some Olive oil over all of it, you can use your fingers to spread the oil evenly. Sprinkle some coarse or normal salt over all of it and pop it in the oven for 30-45 mins or until the Focaccia looks nice golden brown.

That’s it! Not even 10 steps and you’ve got yourself a great looking Italian bread already! All in all it’ll take about 2h 45min, but 2h30 of it is just waiting so you can easily do it while cooking the main dish or just while watching Netflix on a cozy Sunday afternoon. Try yourself out and add different ingredients to get different tastes every time you make it!
